Missouri City leadership luncheon on Jan. 11 features city of Plano’s Steve Stoler

Missouri City will present its leadership luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 11, with featured speaker Steve Stoler.

The event is scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Centre at Quail Valley, 2880 La Quinta Dr., Missouri City, TX 77459. The lucheon cost if $15 and includes lunch, city newsletter, a networking opportunity and door prizes.

Stoler is media relations director for the city of Plano. His presentation is entitled "Building A Legacy": Plano’s rise as a global leader in economic development.

Plano was incorporated June 2, 1873, six months after the Houston and Central Railroad opened and made the city the trading center of the farming community of southwest Collin County. Today, the city of Plano occupies approximately 72 square miles with a population of more than 272,000.

Plano offers an integrated approach of programs and services to support the creation of new businesses, the expansion and retention of existing businesses, and the attraction of companies that offer high impact jobs and share the community’s values.

Stoler is a veteran Emmy Award winning television news reporter, whose career spanned more than three decades at six television stations in Georgia, Nebraska, North Carolina and Texas.

After 34 years in TV news, Steve moved to the "other side" of the communications world.

In December, 2013, he joined the city of Plano, Texas, as Director of Media Relations.
